MRI Endometriosis Mapping
Specialized diagnostic imaging for precise endometriosis detection.
Service Description
Endometriosis MRI Deep infiltrating endometriosis protocol Endometriosis is one of the most frequently missed diagnoses in women's health — on average it takes years, and several physicians, before it is named. Much of that delay comes from imaging: a standard pelvic ultrasound or routine MRI simply cannot resolve the small, deeply infiltrating lesions that cause the most pain. This is a dedicated MRI protocol built for exactly that problem. What makes this study different Unlike a routine pelvic MRI, this examination uses a specialized preparation that separates and opacifies the pelvic compartments so that lesions become visible where they would otherwise be hidden: Intravenous contrast for tissue characterization Vaginal gel distension to define the vaginal wall and rectovaginal septum Rectal saline instillation to delineate the bowel wall and posterior compartment Each step is performed under medical supervision, as part of a controlled procedure rather than a standard scan. Reported by Dr. Trippia The study is interpreted by Dr. Trippia, an internationally recognized specialist in endometriosis imaging. This matters more than it may appear: in endometriosis, the difference between a normal report and a diagnosis frequently lies not in the equipment but in the radiologist reading it. What you receive A detailed anatomical map of the disease — its location, depth of infiltration, and involvement of the uterosacral ligaments, rectovaginal septum, bowel, bladder and ureters.
